This year GemGenève presents an artist and a singular career, Jean Boghossian, jeweller and philanthropist, who has become an internationally recognised painter and sculptor, and whose writings on art are linked to the literary tradition of fragments, maxims and aphorisms.
GemGenève exhibits a set of works by Jean Boghossian specially chosen for their link with the world of fine and precious stones and the arts of the fire, and offers its participants a dialogue between Jean Boghossian and Roger Bertozzi, philosopher and writer, a long-time friend who has followed his artistic journey since its beginnings.
The presentation of the Boghossian Foundation-Villa Empain in Brussels, an East-West art and dialogue centre, will constitute the first part of the interview, then Jean and Roger will evoke the family history and the jeweller’s odyssey; the metamorphosis into an artist almost devoured by this new vocation, and the place of writing in all facets of his inspirations and of the act of creation. The forty-minute dialogue will be followed by exchanges with the public.
Speakers:
- Jean Boghossian (Painter, sculptor and philanthropist)
- Roger Bertozzi (Alumnus of the École Normale Supérieure, philosopher and expert in international relations)
