Hidden Gems – Secrets of the Museums

Join Robin Hansen, Curator of Minerals and Gems at the Natural History Museum, and Helen Molesworth, Senior Curator of Jewellery at the Victoria and Albert Museum, in conversation as they share some of the most special gems and jewels in their collections in London and some of the secret stories behind them.

From magical and cursed gems, fakes and forgeries, to some of the newest and most spectacular stones in the national collections, as well as some miracles of nature that might never have existed in the first place. There is even a tiara that ended up down the toilet in Buckingham Palace.
