In coloured gemstones they are two of many more numerous factors in understanding value but they are arguably still the most important. But they are not as simple as they sound: both affect value positively and negatively, with physical, emotional and even historical associations.
This talk will explore the significance of both colour and clarity, what causes and creates them, how they make some gems particularly special, and why they matter most when it comes to value in coloured gems. “
